Workshop – Generating your Business Idea
Hosted by: Scottish Enterprise – This is an interactive workshop designed to help you come up with an idea to enter into the “Big Business Idea Competition”, or just to develop an existing idea you already have.
Date: Thursday 9th Nov
Time: 6pm (18.00hrs)
Venue: Embreonix – within the University, go past the ATM and through the double doors.

The
SIE Case Analysis Competition 2006 - WIN £2000
What,
Where & When
The
second SIE Case Analysis Competition will be held in Edinburgh
on the weekend of the 31st March - 2nd April 2006.
Who
Teams
made up of four undergraduate students and a coach (optional),
will present their business solutions to a panel of entrepreneurs.
The winning team will recieve £2000, with additional
prizes for runners-up.
Why
By

problems & opportunities
- think more entrepreneurly
- get the chance use your skills to tackle
issues facing businesses in the real world and to present
your solution to the judges
- build your presentation skills

University - Business Plan Competition - 2006
Your
entries are invited for the Oxford University Business Plan
Competition 2006, the biggest of its kind in the UK. The competition,
now in its 9th year has become a launch pad for participating
entrants to successfully raise investment for their commercial
ventures.
Ideas
should be original, or a significant improvement on an existing
business and must have received no more than £250,000
of funding so far.
This
year the competition has a top prize of £20,000 for
the winning business plan, plus various other prizes
including awards for runners-up and for the best "elevator
pitch".
We
welcome entries from anyone - individuals, teams, new companies,
existing companies creating spin-offs, scientists, students
and entrepreneurs - with a good, innovative idea for a science,
technology, medical or design-based business.
For
those who are new to business and creating a business idea,
you can learn a lot by participating in the Business Plan
Competition. There is high-level feedback on all business
ideas submitted and the chance to learn more about the processes
of business. The competition is a highly-prestigious platform
for successful new venture creation, providing access to networks,
training and valuable contacts, and it furthers participants'
understanding of the investment process and what constitutes
a realistic marketable idea.
Entries
are welcome any time up to the deadline for submissions, 5pm
on 19 May 2006 . The finalists will be announced
in June, with the final itself tasking place at Venturefest.

The
'Big Business Idea' Competition 2005/6
The
'Big Business Idea' Competition prizegiving will be at The
Tasting Rooms (No.5, South Ward Road, Dundee) on Monday the
27th of March from 6-8pm. £1000 worth of cash prizes
will be awarded on the evening, and students will have the
opportunity to hear from last year's successfull Waracle team!
